The Gift, Story of the Magi takes place late in the cycle of Christmas, and occurs on January 6, Epiphany— thirteen days after the birth of the Miraculous Child.

After resting and recovering for 12 days, the Child and his parents are visited by travelers from a faraway place—wisemen, Magi. Guided by a star, the Magi have been traveling for a long time searching for the birth of a Great Being. Upon finding the Baby, they immediately recognize the never-before-seen beauty of this Holy Child, and their lives are changed forever. 

The Gift, Story of the Magi was first offered live in churches and performance spaces in January of 1985, and was presented seven times during the ongoing revolutions of The Christmas Cycle. The eighth offering occurred in the Christmas season of 2023, when the story was filmed and presented online. 

Oriented toward adults and mature children, the film of The Gift, Story of the Magi includes a pre-talk that precedes the story discussing the calendar of the Christmas season and how it relates to the natural world. Images and thoughts about the story are also offered as opportunities to support deepening as a human being on the earth. 

Some viewers of The Gift have experienced an enlivening of the Christmas holiday that has brought fresh beauty to their experience of the season.

Total length: 108 minutes.  There is no intermission.

Appropriate for adults and mature children. There are dark moments in the story.
